The Eastern Link is a 160 km new railway between Järna and Linköping. The aim of the project is increased accessibility, shorter travel times, more punctual trains and at the same time contribute to a larger labor market, smoother commuting and regional development. The section Sillekrog - Skavsta contains 35 km of double-track main line and approximately 7 km of branch line towards Nyköping C. The section faces major challenges regarding mass handling, bridge construction (38 bridges) and a new travel center at Skavsta airport.
