Fyrspåret Malmö – Lund
Project description
Client: Swedish Transport Administration
Project cost: Approximately 5 billion SEK
Time: Start 2017 – ongoing
The project
The southern main line between Malmö and Lund is being expanded from two to four tracks, increasing capacity and making traffic less sensitive to disruption. The Swedish Transport Administration is implementing the expansion together with the contractor NCC/OHL, a consortium. Parts of the section between Lund and Arlöv are being built below ground level to reduce noise from traffic, and more and better passages are being built over the tracks to increase accessibility in the communities. The stations in Burlöv, Åkarp and Hjärup are being rebuilt, and a completely new station is being built at Klostergården in southern Lund. The project also includes a reconstruction of the motorway bridges at the E6 interchange Alnarp.
Our mission
In the project, we are responsible for the collaboration management as well as for the project and production management in the collaboration contract.
Challenges
The expansion is taking place along an existing railway with ongoing traffic throughout the construction period. The work has required closures of the E6, and a lot of car traffic moves through and along the work area. The project also has a major impact on local residents and requires collaboration with many stakeholders over a long construction period.
